§ 2-502. Composition; appointment of members; salary; terms.

  • The flood plain management commission created by this division shall consist of persons appointed by the mayor to serve without salary for two-year terms, or until their respective successors are duly appointed and qualified. Commission members shall be broadly representative of the community and shall be individuals who, by background, experience, training, profession and/or age, shall have special interest and knowledge in the affairs and needs of flood plain management. The chairman and vice chairman of the commission shall be appointed by the mayor for a term of one calendar year. The commission shall have the power to establish bylaws and rules in conformity with the authority granted in this section or by statute.
