§ 22-169. Construction of chapter.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to exempt any person, firm or corporation from liability now existing or that in the future may arise, to the City of Ottawa or any person for damage from negligence or from defective construction relating to maintaining or installing electrical materials and fixtures within the corporate limits of the City of Ottawa or on city property outside the corporate limits of the city, nor to release any person, firm or corporation from any restriction under ordinance granting them their respective franchises nor shall the city be held to assume any liability by reason of the inspection authorized herein or certificate or permit being issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, or from a failure of the inspector to perform his full duties hereunder.
