Any person who is licensed in any city, village or town in the State of Illinois where
the requirements of licensing on the date of such licensing are substantially equal
to or greater than the requirements in force in the City of Ottawa, and if such city,
village or town extends a similar privilege to persons licensed under this chapter,
shall not be required to take the examination in Ottawa in order to engage in the
type of electrical work authorized by the individual's license, but prior to commencing
any work, shall file a copy of his license with the electrical inspector of the City
of Ottawa.
